Arid Land Restoration

Saturday Nov 18 – 9am to noon

Learn to restore the unique landscape of the arid Southwest. This class will help you get to know the local ecology better and to understand historic impacts. Learn about good land practices to promote diverse vegetative growth. The solutions for healing degraded landscapes include mulching, seeding and erosion control.

This class will introduce water harvesting structures like one rock dams, rock rundowns, and zuni bowls that create micro-climates for moisture and growth. It’s all about building organic matter, storing water in the soil and encouraging vegetative growth. Amanda will share before and after photos of the watershed restoration projects at Ampersand and explain the success rates of Ampersand’s projects.

Class is $35. After paying, please complete registration below.
