First of all, so sorry if you didn't get our last email and blog post. Turns out it didn't get sent to everyone. Here's last week's Cold Frame Saga.
It's time to add another coat of mud plaster to our little residency cottage. It's been 5 years or so since the north wall has gotten some attention. Come play in the mud with us!
Here are a couple photos of last year's mud plaster party.
Water Systems Walkthrough Interested in getting rain catchment and greywater going on your property? See how easy it can be by touring Ampersand’s hand crafted systems. We have three different kinds of solar water heaters, we catch rain off of every roof, and we have pieced our systems together with salvaged materials and parts we could acquire inexpensively. We have lived off rainwater, and been using greywater now for more than eleven years, so we know the benefits and downfalls of all of our installations. We have 4,500 gallon capacity for our main water storage. Amanda will explain how the tanks and pumps are connected and used in a way that keeps our water use conscious. See how we use gravity, permaculture design, and the stable temperature of the earth to keep our systems working with minimal maintenance. Learn the easy way by seeing what we have done! $15 per person. 10 to noon next Sunday, September 27th

Community Homestead Day
Calling all Earth lovers! Come out to Ampersand for our Community Homestead Day on Sunday, Sept 13th. Wander Ampersand's sustainable site, talk with us about how we can make our communities more self sufficient, share about your own projects. We will be doing some mud plastering and chopping local apples to put in the solar dehydrator. Bring kids to play in the mud and help us get a little mud plaster on a wall in need of attention. Please RSVP by email. We try to hook up our bike riding community with carpool rides. Let us know! 11am to 3pm. Bring a lunch! $10 suggested donation per person.
