We have an awesome open house in the works for you! Each year we host our larger community for a celebration of the conclusion of the internship program. The interns are looking forward to showing and explaining a bit of what they have learned during the summer. Bring a dish for the potluck, perhaps a musical instrument, and celebrate with us!
Saturday July 11th
Arrivals 2 to 3pm, Intern Presentations begin at 3 pm, Potluck 5pm into the evening.
RSVP is nice! Our parking is limited so we can help you carpool. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Here are all our lovely interns and what they will be presenting about...
Cara Cacchetti was born of a love affair of a daisy and a rose. She will be sharing her experience of creating sustainable community in the kitchen.
Mary Kate Cleary is our accident prone yet Highly Efficient Intern Apprentice. Wielder of hammer and tong, Mary Kate will be presenting on her blacksmithing apprenticeship with Christin Boyd of FlyGirl Iron down the road.
Brian Crowley is our resident Mountain Man. He will show off our rain catchment system, the solar heater for our outdoor shower, and how we keep track of water use.
Kelsey Kuhl is an expert knitter as well as Ampersand's cat and baby whisperer. She will show us what she has learned about gardening in the desert.
Sara (can we eat that) Brown is the Leftover Queen. She has co created a short film that explains our humanure composting process.
Taran Wilkens-Plumley is synonymous with a dirty face. She is not a type of bird, but can always be counted on for a delightful smile. She has co created the film on our humanure composting process.
Kat Kent is a hoola hooping cheetah lover. Kat had to leave her thug life behind and now is G for Gaia. She's got Earth Mama swag and will be presenting on sustainable cooking techniques.
And remember about our mushroom cultivation workshop in October (see below)! We will have more events towards the end of summer and fall. When we know what they are, we will let you know!
