Every culture tells itself stories. Ours has realized the power of story in unique ways. Not just the multimedia forms of books and movies dovetailing into one another, but also video games and even marketplace items. Everything has a story now, we are led to believe, from milk to cereal to whiskey to soap, if there’s a product, chances are good it has a narrative.

Community Homestead Day

Saturday August 30, 10-4

This event is to call the diversity of our community to share in a village atmosphere of fun and productivity.  All ages are invited to join us for a casual day of seasonal homesteading activity and earth building.  We will be focusing on processing local fruit!  We will have cases of fruit that we will chop up and put in the solar dehydrator... read more and rsvp at

Homeschool Homestead Day

Friday, September 19

This event is especially for homeschooling families, but all are invited!
It's basically the same as the Community Homestead Day, but it's on a Friday.

Natural Building Volunteer Day

Saturday, September 20th 10- 2  Free! 

Thanks to The Permaculture Institute group for digging us a water harvesting basin!
We love it when our graduate interns bring their parents back to Ampersand and put them to work.
Thanks to our volunteer Fran for enjoying the massive Datura bloom as much as we did!
