Greywater Systems and Rain Catchment
Saturday July 12, 10 to 4
Learn to harvest and make use of our important water resources. This class will cover the basic elements of rain collection systems including sizing and siting your tank as well as keeping the water clean. We will also discuss accessories like tank gauges, first flush systems, and filters for DIY systems.
Household waste water is also a valuable resource for irrigation in our dry climate. Learn to use it safely for creating gardens and wildlife habitats. We will cover the essentials: New Mexico greywater code, appropriate soaps, and basic gravity fed greywater systems like mulch basins, infiltration chambers, and pumice wicks. We will tour Ampersand’s systems to observe these concepts in action.
We will focus on Rainwater Catchment systems from 10am to 12:30
